SAMBA is part of a logic of digital transformation which, thanks to new technologies, sees the revision of work processes guaranteeing transparency in the use of services, sharing spaces and resources (human, material, intellectual, economic), new areas of inclusion and contributing to an improvement in the quality of working life and therefore social sustainability.

Technologies can also make a substantial contribution to the process of making work spaces more efficient, with consequent advantages with respect to environmental protection. The impacts on the territory concern with particular attention the existing historical heritage. In this perspective SAMBA wants to develop appropriate technologies and solutions avoiding the import of technologies that have been developed in totally different contexts and therefore difficult to adapt to existing real estate assets.

An important innovation, therefore, because it is based on the low-cost application of digital technologies to the historical building heritage, which in Lombardy and Italy represents the majority of existing buildings, in order to achieve social, environmental and productive objectives: a technological solution "appropriate" to the Italian and Lombard context, characterised by the necessary encounter between history and tradition on the one hand and innovation and digital on the other.

SAMBA is also an innovative project because it aims to integrate the various building systems and systems, ergonomically controlling them in a user friendly user interface that takes into account flexibility, connectivity and control in a logic of open innovation and incremental approach (implementing third party technologies and solutions at any time).
